"The scale" is truly infamous among any overseas worker. No, ...we aren't weighing-in after an extended furlough in America! (Although that number may be just as shocking and infamous! Big smile!)
In preparation to leave, we always spend many hours packing bags. We have to sort and pack. Then we weigh the bags. The scale is our best friend these days! Then we do a "partial unpack"... weigh and pack again. There are stringent weight requirements with each airline and we all desire to use the very last pound and space available!
This week we have done a lot of packing, unpacking and weighing these bags. They are each
labeled with masking tape (34 lbs., 45 lbs. 50 lbs.). ...This way we know which ones we can add things to at the last minute (got to put your pillow and deodorant somewhere!). Well, we are 4 days and counting!~
